Salida Artist Nancy Kay spends her time hiking with her dogs and creating watercolor paintings of her journeys.
"As a retired engineer, I spent my career in mechanical design focused on very precise drawings. Spending more time in the studio experimenting with color and shapes as well as studying in watercolor workshops has helped me ‘loosen’ my painting style," says Nancy.
Originally from Northern California, she and her husband Will moved to Salida in 2012. "I enjoy anything outdoors... skiing, hiking, mountain biking, fly-fishing and traveling with my husband and our three bird dogs." Nancy was chosen to create this year's poster for Monarch Ski Resort. You can see more of her watercolors at https://www.nancykaywatercolors.com
